This grade ll listed Victorian terrace in Islington was in a prime location for further development so by adding a further bedroom with bathroom would not only increase the value but further enhance this property.

We erected scaffolding with a temporary roof, then removed the roof structure in its entirety, floor and roof steels were installed, the main structure was completed using timber constructed walls, floors and roof.

One of the main criteria set out by listed building consent was that the internal joinery matched the existing, this included skirting, architraves, wall panelling.

New lead clad dormer windows and hanging natural slates to mansard

High spec sliding box sash windows, panelling and shelving

Matching joinery and moulding were conditions of the listed building consent, staircase balustrading (below) was manufactured to match that on the lower floors; high quality bathroom fitting and tiles were selected by the client and which we supplied and installed.

Another listed building condition was to install Bat/swift boxes to the external wall but as you can see the sparrows moved in first!
